Birds of North and South Brother Island

To our surprise, these exotic birds live on New York City's own North and South Brother Islands, located in The Bronx. This is the biggest heron/egret nesting colony in the Northeast of the U.S.

Restricted Area: A.C.T.I.O.N Adventures to Explore, How and Why?

North Brother Island is an Island in the East River, off the coast off the South Bronx, where public visitation is prohibited. The island, that was once a quarantine site for the infamous Typhoid Mary, has recently been one of the biggest and most important heron and egret nesting areas in the Northeast United States.
